Stokesley Levenside Footpath Improvements Project this year

This project will provide a new more accessible path along Levenside in Stokesley.

The Levenside Path has existed as an informal path for several hundred years, but the current path is no longer fit for purpose. It is narrow and uneven and has areas with steep inclines towards the river.

First, stretches of the river bank will be rebuilt and repaired. This work will provide the basis for a secure, more accessible footpath for all users which will balance the needs of wheelchair and buggy users with respect for the green spaces and character of this part of the Stokesley conservation area.

Additionally, it will replace the current time-expired fencing with traditional, unpainted, tanalised, birdsmouth fencing to match the sections already renewed and install fingerposts on both the High Street and river bank to link the two areas.

The project’s legacy will be a riverside walk to be enjoyed by current and future residents and visitors for many years to come.

Becoming a member is easy – it cost just £1 and you can join in store or

online at coop.co.uk/membership.

As well as all the personal benefits you receive (each time you purchase Co-op branded goods or fresh produce you receive 5% of the cost refunded onto your card), 1% goes to the local causes. If members do nothing your 1%s will be divided between all three causes, but you can elect to have all your 1%s directed to one particular cause.

We would welcome your support and ask that members nominate this project as their chosen cause.
