Vehicle Activated Speed Sign
Following a successful bid by the Stokesley Conservation Area Advisory Group to the AJ1 Project Road Safety Fund Grant to purchase a Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS) to be deployed in various locations around Stokesley. We are pleased to have now taken receipt of this equipment and it is now installed on Westlands.
The aim of the project is to reduce the speed of vehicles when they enter Stokesley and the unit will be rotated round the following four sites:-
Westlands – Column No. 4
Tanton Road – Column No. 11
Helmsley Road – Column No. 5
Thirsk Road – Column No. 5
The unit will be re-located every six weeks – so will be situated in each location twice a year.
Stokesley Town Council will be the point of contact in relation to the equipment so if at any time you have any concerns or questions regarding the system please contact the Town Clerk by e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephoning 01642 710270.
Thanks go to the Stokesley Conservation Area Advisory Group for their time and efforts in securing this grant which we hope will lead to a reduction in the number of vehicles exceeding the speed limits.
